Biography of the composer Lilian May
Lilian May, her true name being Francoise Pecque, is born in 1950 at Pontarlier, France. She starts to play the piano as she is six years old, and obtains many diplomas. As she is 17 she obtains a 1st prize at the Pontarlier music academy. Then she joins the regional music academy of Dijon. She obtains several prizes, the best one being the Minister for the Culture Prize, this prize is delivered in 1975 during a public ceremony at the Dijon theatre.
In the seventies (1973-79) at the national academy of music of Dijon she assists her piano professor, Elisabeth Léonet, former pupil of Gabriel Fauré. During the same years she improves her piano technique in Paris with the German consertist Théo Breu. In 79 she joins the music academy of Oyonnax. There she creates a musical comedy with her pupils. The musical comedy is played by the pupils in the city theatre. In 1980 she gets married and follows her husband to Montpellier. Lilian May teaches the piano in a local Montpellier music academy. She improves her piano technique studying major composers. She composes piano music following defined theme. She develops a piano method to the teach the piano to very young kids.
In 1997 she moves back to her native county with her family. There she meets a young movie maker who asks her to write a music for a movie which must be shown in the Aigues Mortes festival. Lilian May takes the opportunity to learn to compose using Computer-Assisted Music.
The Crea Sound Ltd (Toronto) producer Louis Delacour enjoying her music decides to produce a 74 minutes CD which is distributed in about 30 countries to be used for documentaries advertisements and so on. In the past years she composes songs mixing classical sounds and modern rhythms.
In june 2006, her producer retired and sold the Mondiophone catalog to Kapagama. Unfortunetely, after a year and a half, the director still not use Lilian's CD, she gains back the rights on her music in may 2008.
A year after, in may 2009, she find a new producer with the music editor Music4Pro. A new adventure begins.

Events
2001 She is member of the SACEM as a composer She composes a CD of 33 tracks for Crea Sound Ltd founded by Mr Louis Delacour. This CD is distributed in more than 30 countries.
1999 Composition of an original soundtrack for a young amateur director. This film is presented to the festival of Aigues-Mortes. In June 1999 live presentation of the film and its soundtrack on the France 3 regional television channel Franche Comté and Bourgogne in Dijon, in the presence of all the team.
1996 Composition of a piece of piano for pupils given to an examination of the end of year and to an entrance examination to the local Academy of music of Pontarlier.
1992-93 Writing of a tutorial of piano and music theory for beginners..
1980 Creation of a musical comedy with her pupils of the local Academy of music of Oyonnax played in public the theatre.
1970-78 As she studies at the national Academy of music of Dijon, she gives hearings of piano and singing in the theatre of Dijon.
1963-64 Within the ‘Kingdom of Music’ under Sylvie Raynaud-Zurfluh's presidency, during a radio-TV contest she plays on live from the National Academy of Music of Besancon.
